The city of Recondite is the jewel of Galla Nua. Delight in the Feraz Gardens area, home of the famous Parc de la Fontaine. Stay in luxurious hotels, or catch a show at the Recondite Opera House.
Those less fortunate must make their stay in the slums of Welkinweep, rife with miscreants, beggars, and sodomites. Be sure to be accompanied whenever you go out at night, lest the Arch-Devil of Drake Street disappear you.

Site-wide Plot on The Book of Moons
It's said that if you trip on a cobblestone in Welkinweep, the Arch-Devil will steal your toes. If you see a crow alight on a lamppost at midnight, the Arch-Devil will steal your eyes. It's become a popular fairy story that children delight in telling for a scare. Often the storyteller will swap out which part of you he will steal; teeth, nails, tongues.
The tale is loosely related to a string of suspicious disappearances over a half-century’s span; each missing person's next of kin received a package containing one small part of a body, assumed to belong to their loved one. Each was either a current or former resident of Drake street and the areas nearby.
Several innocent denizens have been falsely fingered over the years. Some have been proven to be pranks or copycats, and the true mutilator’s identity has eluded the Recondite Police thus far.
The most recent grisly find took place last year in early winter, 1874, reigniting both the investigation and the imagination of Reconditians:

Welcome to Alcaera, an isolated and peaceful island in the sunny Caribbean Sea. Though the island bolsters the promise of paradise on Earth, something SINISTER lurks just beneath the surface. While the secret facility on the island is usually at the core of all the rumors, there have been strange sightings throughout the island, tourists vanishing into thin air, and strange rumours of prophetic dreaming cropping up. It is no surprise some residents are starting to feel uneasy. But never mind all that, sit back and relax, take a swim in the clear blue water and soak up everything Alcaera has to offer.
