Industrialisation pushed magical folk out of their homes across the world as forests were razed and cities built while technology marched on. The mundane and magical drifted ever further apart over generations, leading us to where we are now. Magic is scarce or seems it, even in places where magic users were once the vast majority in the population. Dissatisfied with their lot, many magical communities wish to restore their rightful place above the mundane. Others simply want to live in peace, following the new way of life as they always have.
