For centuries, the Hollow Realm has been caught in a ceaseless war. It began with the fae who wished to enslave humankind, as the fae saw the humans as weak and unfit to be anything but lesser. However, many would not agree and chose to rebel and fight back. War broke out between the courts and those who wished to fight back against the tyranny of the queen and her crusade to rule all of the Hollow Realm and enslave the lesser species of the realm. The queen's forces forced dragons to fight for them. They formed powerful bonds and fought ruthlessly in the skies and on the ground, until the dragons, too, rebelled. Many of the dragons fled with those who rebelled, spreading far and wide across Astralis, forging alliances with fae and human alike as they found their place in the war. Many saw the darkness to come, and the dragons did what they could to protect the Hollow Realm. The queen would never stop until she held the world in her hand, until she was the most powerful ruler in the Hollow Realms. The war was bloody, and many lives were lost on both sides. Eventually, it came to a draw as the queen retreated Under the Mountain, and the fae gave part of their land to the humans, allowing a tenuous pact of peace to form between both kingdoms. The humans took Valamir, and with the help of those fae who were willing, they began to rebuild.

It was in the cold of winter that the houses of Basilia and Volkov made a pact for their daughter of House Basilia and the son and heir to House Volkov would marry, thus uniting the houses and forming an alliance between the countries of Prospemeria and Stryla.
